Helper Poster Chart {FREEBIE}

A little FREEBIE for you to use as a helper chart in your classroom.  Everyone does helpers in the classroom slightly differently, so this is an editable file.  To print as a 4 page poster, simply select to print page one only, then select "poster printing" from your print setup.

For my classroom helper chart, I used library pockets which I taped to the poster, then I labeled them with the helper cards.  I bought colorful gingerbread cutouts from the Dollar Tree that fit perfectly into the library pockets.  I will label them with my students names to easily switch out helpers weekly.

It's a start....Day 1

So, I spent most of the day yesterday in my classroom.  I have a few pictures for you to check out.

When I first walked in yesterday I knew something was missing...it took me a few minutes to figure out that my 6 stacks of blue chairs were not 6 stacks of blue chairs--but 2 stacks of blue chairs.  That's just 10 chairs.  I'm slightly attached to my chairs.  My desks are all mismatched and uneven, but my chairs, they were all the same color, size, and even height!  I was pretty sure that my missing chairs had gotten moved to another building, as there were several classrooms that were moved to other buildings just last week.  So I start stalking casually perusing the nearby classrooms.  My building's new principal asks what I'm looking for, and I tell her "my chairs".  Not wanting to sound like a crazy maniac, having only just met her last spring for two minutes!  She and a custodian spent the next hour searching the building for my chairs.  Which were not found in their entirety.  However, I did get some replacement chairs from another classroom that will be getting "bigger kid" furniture.  Whew! Disaster averted!

Now, a bunch of random pictures, a few with captions.  I feel so lucky to have a room with a view!

 YIKES!

Finally, one thing somewhat completed...
My classroom library area.  Those gigantic white cards are our Open Court Sound Spelling cards.  I wish they were smaller!

I've gotta get back in that room and work some serious magic today.  Enjoy your day! ☺

The time has come... and a {FREEBIE}!

I'm getting myself prepared to head back into the classroom on Monday.  I'm trying to get myself into a less nocturnal schedule since I become a total night owl when summer rolls around.  The transition back to school is always tough.  I will make a concerted effort to get some pictures posted of my classroom this year.  I'm always terrible about that! I'm posting a link to a {FREEBIE} I posted last year for back to school just in case you're interested.  It's my Back to School Backpack Glyph.  Hope you can use it.

How much shopping did you do today?

Wanna keep your first graders busy on those first few crazy busy days of school?  Then you should check out my Back to School Busy Work Pack for First Graders in my TpT store. ☺

Well, let me start by saying: I love to shop.  I love to shop for shoes.  I love to shop for bags.  I love to shop for books.  I love to shop for pens and markers.  I love to shop for clipart and graphics and digital papers...I love to shop.  I consider myself an expert! Today, I shopped, and I shopped, and I shopped some more! This girl loves a S.A.L.E.!  I just have to give a quick shout-out to a couple of my favorite TpT sellers, and their super-cool products.

I have every single one of Deedee Wills' Writing Work Stations.  They are amazing! If you haven't seen them, you've gotta check 'em out! Today's purchases, to complete my full set, were the August/September and the October Writing Work Stations.  If you don't already follow her, you've gotta check out her blog:

Then I shopped some more...I only picked up two items from Doodle Bugs Teaching...so I'll probably have to swing by her shop again tomorrow.  First, her Color Word Unit: Activities and Centers for the 10 Basic Color Words. I love this pack, the activities are terrific, and I can't wait to use it with my firsties.  Secondly, I picked up her Clifford Mini Unit.  Who doesn't love Clifford?  And, Clifford will be celebrating his 50th birthday this year--how perfect!
If you don't already follow Doodle Bugs Teaching, make sure you stop by and check out her blog too.

Happy shopping everyone!

You probably already know about the awesome sale at TpT that's coming up soon.  But, just in case, here's the deets: Sunday and Monday, August 12th-13th: TpT's annual Back to School Sale.  Every item in my store will be 20% off, and when you enter the TpT code: BTS12, you'll save even more, for a total of 28% off!
