Do you Open Court? And sight words, sight words, sight words...

Looking for other bloggers who teach from the Open Court reading series.  I'm beginning to delve into Common Core Standards, and I'm taking a look at my Open Court curriculum.  Hmmm, oh boy! How do these match up?  This should be an interesting year!

On another note...I am constantly practicing sight word fluency with my students, along with nonsense word fluency, oral reading fluency, etc...I find that providing students with different sight word games, on a variety of themes, helps to keep sight word practice fresh, and keeps students engaged.  I have finished uploading new sight word practice games to my TpT store, and my Teacher Notebook store too.  Check them out. ☺

  1. Yes, I do Open Court! Finally there is someone else out there in Blog Land who teaches with Open Court. I see all the awesome things that teachers share from Reading Street, Scott Foresman, HM, etc. but no one mentions Open Court. I would love to swap ideas with you!

  5. I just found your blog while researching Open Court. I'm a new teacher this year using Open Court in first grade. I'd love to know what some of you all are doing with it!
